Crystal Rift on Greenlight

Post by Psyetc »

Crystal Rift is an inspired by classic dungeon games such as Dungeon Master and Eye of the Beholder with grid-based movement, it has been developed primarily for Virtual Reality headsets such as the Oculus Rift and GearVR, but is also a great experience for those without headsets.

More information and a 50s video over at Steam :

P.S we love grid based dungeon crawlers and respect Grimrock, we are just adding to the pool of grid based dungeon crawlers with a different approach

The graphics look pretty simple (I'm reminded of Quake 2)
Why does this game have higher system requirements than LoG2?

Recommended
LOG2 (GTX 660 Ti) vs Crystal Rift (GeForce 8800)

You know, that's a few years (six actually) in difference.

Mostly our requirements are based on VR needs (top end), so we need to have optimised graphics etc for VR, this is a challenge for most VR developers at the moment, running games at 75hz, with sum 10ms main loops with Dual Eye renders not dropping a single frame.

Well, I think it looks interesting and worthwhile, plus graphics (and how good they are) have never been a thing for me. Just got done playing Pools of Radiance last month (again), if that's saying anything. Thanks for sharing this up coming game.
