Is there a way to destroy items?

All the spears and shields laying around level 6 is really causing performance to bog down. It would be *really* nice if I could destroy them. There are thousands of them lying around. I tried stacking them in faraway corners, but after a few hours of that it didn't seem to help.

Not possible as far as I know.
Your only option is to carry them away somewhere else... Maybe a pit you don't visit much?

There are better places to grind than the skeletons, they're worth so little that it's hardly worth it imo.

So far I've moved maybe 3k spears and 1-2k shields up to level 5. Performance has greatly improved, though there's still a lot left to move. :?

If you are serious about the 3000 spears and 1-2000 shields: dude.. play the game instead of doing that boring stuff over and over again.

What can you possibly gain by doing that, you don“t need that XP much for the game anyway.

Hee, hee. I guess you have a point. Last weekend I moved the rest of the shields and spears up to level 5 to get my fps back to normal. I'm guessing it was another 2k or so of each.

Point taken about the skels, I decided to just stick to the crab and Ugguardians. My goal is to get my party to level 20 (I know, it's probably unnecessary, but it would just be pretty cool). My rogue is already at 20 (master assassin with a little ninja training 8-) ), so I only have to bring the other 3 up from 19. Level 20 is at 907k XP, but 21 is all the way at 1.24M XP, so 20 will definitely be the last stop before delving down to the bottom of the mountain...

Going out of your way to kill creatures when you're in the area is one thing, but you're wasting your life. If they told you to press A a billion times, would you do it? Killing thousands of skeletons in a repetitive task is not fun any way you do it, it's not gameplay, it's not a challenge, it's not a worthwhile feat... it's the end of civilization. Save yourself the trouble and just edit your saves up to level whatever. Then go outside and have a breath of fresh air, think about what you're going to do with your day.

Hey just for the record, what's your playtime so far?

At the end of the day if Hustin is having fun then I think it's pretty cool! I would suggest killing Ice Lizard's personally there are two which constantly respawn and give you steaks which you can destroy via eating them!

Let us know if you do make it to level 20! :P

Playtime is 105 hours so far. Three of my party are now level 20, and Mork is just shy of it (25k xp to go). My rogue is actually almost halfway to 21, but that wouldn't get her all that much -- light armor proficiency, but with all the lurker gear she has on I'm not sure it would be all that big a deal. I'd be able to give her all the chitin armor pieces, but I'd have to check the stats to see if it's at all worth it. She isn't in the front rank anyway.

What I really want is to get Sancsaron all the possible spells. I could use the two books I'm carrying to get him the last spell he needs (which I imagine is a cold shield), or I could push him to 21, use one book, and give the other to Mork to give him Devastating Blow. I don't see any real benefit to giving a book to the others, unless I gave both to my rogue to double her evasion on all clothing pieces. Her evasion is already pretty good as it is, though since she has the scaled cloak with a 2x bonus.

Then again, Sancsaron has a bunch of nomad gear on and Contar got fire/cold protection +10, so maybe a cold shield spell isn't all that important. Part of Sancsaron's problem is that I unknowingly pushed his earth magic early on and got him the more powerful poison spell. I actually had to treadmill him up a few levels when I first found the

fireball spell
because his fire magic was only 2.

Decisions, decisions...
