I tried an alchemist and the crystal grows way too slowly. Hardly worth it.
One tip, if you want to walk forever and go to sleep. Close the pressure pad gate in Keelbreach Bog (top left so bugs can't get through) then swim around to Forgotten River and back to Keelbreach Bog to the other side of the teleporters. Then just put a weight on you keyboard "w" key and walk into the teleporters.
This way you can walk forever.
(I tried it and it works, I am not sure what happens when your inventory is full though as I did not do it for long, like I said hardly worth the effort, lol. Maybe u have to keep organizing the flowers or something. Maybe you could use just 1 crystal flower in the inventory if it is a problem and check every hour or so work out how many hours and set an alarm.)
Another completely useless thing you can do is shoot a bolt from the serpent staff into these teleporters and it goes forever, rofl.
