I tried both Normal Windowed mode and Maximized (assuming you meant to make the change on the icon properties). No good either way.petri wrote:Could you try running the game in windowed or borderless mode (in game options)?

Ok, let's try this. Could you browse to your Documents folder and open up the game config file at "Documents\Almost Human\grimrock.cfg". In the file search for a line that says "displayMode = X" where X is a number (probably 1). Change the value 1 to 2 so that the line says "displayMode = 2". This should force on windowed mode.Phlimm wrote:I tried both Normal Windowed mode and Maximized (assuming you meant to make the change on the icon properties). You sir, are a god. It worked and then I was able to also set it to Maximized with the game options screen and it now runs!petri wrote:Ok, let's try this. Re: D3DError - CreateDevice failed: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL
Ok, good to hear that! Note that if you want to get rid of the window borders you can try setting it to value 3 which means "borderless windowed mode".
Re: D3DError - CreateDevice failed: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL
Editing config file worked, can play windowed/borderless for now, thanks. Fullscreen *should* work thoughpetri wrote:Ok, let's try this. Re: D3DError - CreateDevice failed: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL
Agreed. Perhaps you could help us out by giving some remote debugging assistance? May I contact you tomorrow by sending a PM so we could investigate this further?
Re: D3DError - CreateDevice failed: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL
Fix worked somehow game started and could enter options but could not reach apply button as was not visible
i closed game and changed again option to number 1 and resolution to 1920x1080 and this time started in fullscreen
resolution on cfg was previously somethingx599

Re: D3DError - CreateDevice failed: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL
Ok, thanks for the info. Seems like there is a problem detecting the correct fullscreen resolution on some systems.
