[Ubuntu] Crash on start (shaders?)

Post by Captaincook »

Hi all
Dual boot machine here, I wanted to install the game on both systems (Windows Vista & Ubuntu 10.04).
It works perfectly on Windows, so that's good, great, excellent. Love it.
But it crashes on Ubuntu.
First I had an issue with S3TC support; I enabled it with DRICONF, so that took care of that.
Now things go a little further but still crash early on... Here's the terminal output:

Any idea what the problem may be?
Thanks in advance and cheers!

GL_SHADING_LANGUAGE_VERSION: 1.20
I guess this is the cause for the crash or to be more precise: the fail of the shader compilation.

AFAIR LoG requires Shader 3 to run. Try a more recent driver version than 2009Q4.

Thanks for your reply.
Wow. Does this mean my driver actually dates back to the 4th quarter of 2009?
I thought these were part of the standard updates, but... I guess that the fact that I'm using early 2010 Ubuntu is the source of the problem, right?
Sorry, could you give me some pointers about how I can update these drivers manually?
