[MOD] Awakening of Taarnab - RELEASED

Post by mahric »

I am proud to present the "Awakening of Taarnab", my second mod for Legend of Grimrock.

It tells the story of the Awakening of a female ogre called Taarnab, and how she became the most powerful shaman of the ogre tribe of Kuhn'ra.

Did you visit the Wine Merchant's Basement? And heard about the Awakening of Taarnab?

WOW. I was going to just pop it on for second because I didn't really have time to play until next week, but...well that's out the window.

I have to say, you've outdone yourself. This is incredible. From the storyline (who knew I'd have so much fun playing a female orc?!?) to the minigames, this is an absolute blast and I have to say that, while it's a different animal entirely, I'm enjoying it more than I did the original game!

I'm loving the clean wallset, and custom items, too.

Okay...back to it!!

I use a lot of custom tilesets and objects but almost none are made by me. A lot of the Grimrock regulars published items that made this mod possible. Al lot of thanks to them!

Oh, definitely...I think that's Neikun's clean wallset, if I remember correctly? I just mean it's good to see it being used, and it's a perfect setting for your story.

Yep, that's mine. It was a blast play testing this dungeon. Mahric does all the cool things. Then, by incorporating our wonderful community, each npc we meet is just so much more rewarding.

Great mod, great mod so far... :D

but...

No food! My poor Taarnab is rapidly starving to death trying to complete the more challenging puzzles.

Plus, I'm not a huge fan of ogres as anything more than dumb man-eating monsters (call it the old gamer in me). If only AH had brought out minotaur NPCs, it would have made more sense from a game perspective.

still, your scripting skills and use of assets are first class, plus you give us something different from the normal adventuring fare (frankly, the sort of thing I would like to do if I had your modding ability... just not with ogres ;) ).
