A massive heap of custom portraits (400+)

Post by BlueLegion »

So I slapped together all sorts of portraits, made from any images I had available or found on google. I think I might have gone a little overboard :D Hopefully you can find some good ones amongst them.
Warning: Not all of them are suitable for proper serious role-play =P
NONE of the pics were MADE by me, I just found them on google and converted them. Credits go to the respective artists.
Note that Legend of Grimrock detects empty space in portraits and puts a grey background in automatically. Some portraits (e.g. Earthbound) will look better ingame than on the previews.

Current total: 444
Download all at once (16MB) or seperate packs below.

Changelog:
  • added The Last Airbender and Left 4 Dead
  • Added Dead Island and Gladius pictures to Unsorted, made by others on these forums
  • Added minotaurs and lizardmen from Arxagelos' collection (see Other portrait threads)
  • Expanded DigitalArts pack
  • Expanded Chrono Trigger pack
  • Expanded all race packs with lots of pictures from deviantart
  • Expanded Insectoid race pack

Most artists on Deviant Art specifically deny the use of their art as avatars elsewhere. I assume you got their permission?

That's news to me. No, I did not ask permission, but I tried making them them as trackable as possible by including author name (and sometimes title) in the file names, so credits go where credits are due.

Hmmmm, well that doesn't make it right ;-) There are a lot of semi-professional and pro artists on there whose work is done on commission for big game companies, and their contracts specifically deny copyright to anyone other than either the original artist, or the games company themselves. This is why most artists state very clearly on their Deviant Art pages that their art is not to be used elsewhere.
