New server

Post by antti »

Hello all! We should now be residing on a new server that should be more reliable and it will be easier to scale up if there is increased demand. Everything should already be working but if you notice something strange, let us know. :)

May your dungeon stay be brief, Jani!

Hi,
I just wanted to report a slight misconfiguration of your mail server, so activation mails are sometimes rejected. Your SMTP server identifies itself as "HELO ip-10-98-11-225.ec2.internal" but the connection comes from http://www.grimrock.net <23.21.178.45>.

There are two problems with the HELO comand. First, its name does not resolve (note the domain: ec2.internal). Second, it is different than the actual source address of the connection (23.21.178.45). Some servers with a stricter checks (that are useful for stopping spam in general) reject such mails. You may want to check your log files for failed activation attempts of my account if you are interested.

p.s.
Since this is my first post, let me say: Thank you for this wonderful game! As I bought this game on gog, I'm unable to help with beta testing :(
