Uploading LoG2 mods to Steam (incomplete)

Post by Zo Kath Ra »

This guide is still incomplete.
I will complete it when I feel like it :)

Upload the mod
  1. Install Steam
  2. Spend at least $5.00 USD (in words: five) on Steam

  3. Install LoG2 in Steam
    If you've installed LoG2 outside of Steam, you can't use it to upload LoG2 mods to the Steam Workshop.
    But you can have both versions installed at the same time.
  4. LoG2 -> Dungeon Editor
  5. File -> Open Project... | Ctrl-O
    Open a dungeon editor file.
    This is the only way to upload LoG2 mods to the Steam Workshop.
    You can't upload a .dat file created with File -> Export.
    Neither in the Dungeon Editor, nor in the Steam Workshop.
  6. File -> Publish to Workshop...
  7. Publish New Mod | Update Mod
    • Dungeon Name
      Appears in the Custom Dungeon / Load Game / Save Game menus (can only be changed by uploading a new mod version)
      Should be short, so Dungeon Name + Level Name fit in the Load Game / Save Game menus
      Appears in the Steam Workshop (can be changed anytime)
    • Author
      Appears in the Custom Dungeon menu (can only be changed by uploading a new mod version)
    • Description
      Appears in the Custom Dungeon menu (can only be changed by uploading a new mod version)
      Appears in the Steam Workshop (can be changed anytime)
    • Preview Image
      Appears in the Steam Workshop (can only be changed by uploading a new mod version)
      This image represents the mod on Steam.
      Screenshots will be added later in "Edit the Steam Workshop page".
    • Visibility
      Set to "Private", because you need to edit the Steam Workshop page before the mod is ready for publication.
    • Subscribe to Published File
      Leave this box checked.
