The doors, keys and locks look very impressive judging from the screenshots, but it can be difficult to judge them without seeing them in the actual game. The gems look OK but they're so small it's very hard to judge just from screenshots, I find.

Fell free to add my doors to your thread. But I'd appreciate that you'd mention that this is still WIP.


I have completed half of the gem alcoves models. All square shaped alcoves are finished in fact.
You can place nine per wall without overlapping. You can place one gem per alcove only.
The alcove code is shamelessly copied from the custom alcove thread, so thanks to Neikun and Batty for this !
I have configured the click box as small as possible but if that's cause problem it can be easily modified.

Please go see all screen shots in the first post. Here are a couple shot as a teaser and reference.

I was only going to post the doors there after the pack is released. Am I misunderstanding, or is it going to be WIP even after release?

No, not at all.
I was just planning to finish other models (gems alcoves, keys, etc.) and release them before starting to work properly on the doors again.
I tend to start something, not complete it and then go and start something else... :?
So I want to focus on some specific models and finish them properly and release them before going on anything new.

In the meantime the WIP mention for the doors is just to keep things clear.
The actual look in the screen shots is quite not what I have in mind for the finished product.
There is still work to do on the textures and models I'm afraid...

After the "end of year" holidays, I have returned to work and have been very busy lately !

I finally managed to find some time and I have made a pack from the already finished models.
The keys and locks collection is released.

I have updated the first post with a download link but I'll also put it here.
The download link at Grimrock.nexusmods.com is : Keys And Locks Collection

I'll try to pack the already finished gems and alcoves before this week-end and restart working on the doors.

If you find any bug with the released file please report it back here so I can correct any mistakes quickly.
Also please report any English mistake as English is not my native language I'm not confident that the objects descriptions are always correct.

Thank you!! Probably I'm gonna use your keys rather than mine :D
EDIT: I'm trying it right now, and they look wonderful!!

Two things thought:
The icons of the keys are all messed up.
The second thing are the locks that are duplicated ( I see in the asset browser for example: "lock_gem_01" and "lock_gem_01_red" but they look identical)
