Post your mods

Post by antti »

We might need a generic "post your mod here" -thread so I thought I'd kick things off with something I made this morning (I woke up way too early :) )

This Rotten Place:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... earchtext=
http://grimrock.nexusmods.com/mods/6/

Dungeon Editor source files:
http://www.grimrock.net/extras/rotten_place_source.zip

edit: added nexus mods link

Your link is broken, so I'm downloading it directly thru Steam.

Let's see what you have in store for us

EDIT: I'm feeling REALLY dumb.. but where exactly do I download this through the workshop?

You subscribe to the mods and the game then handles the downloading. And yeah, the link apparently doesn't work if you are not logged in to Steam with your browser. I'll add an alternate download soon.

Okay. Thanks for the explanation.

I gave it a shot, it was very interesting and even kinda creepy! Finished it in about a minute. :P

Good to know all these effects like lighting+thunder, fog, dripping water can be made just through the editor.

Will the mod work if I am not on Steam but download it on the alternate link?

Hmm, can you give us "This_Rotten_Place.rar", please? I mean - we can unrar it into ..\dungeons\This Rotten Place\ and open it in editor . Packed mods are unopenable

Antti is home sleeping now (he came to work 2am just to create this mod!)
I think the plan was to clean up the mod and post the source files as a tutorial.

Yeah, I think the mod would serve well as learning material since the mod has a few "rules and mechanics" that were custom built for this dungeon (like randomizing monster spawns and using hooks when picking up items or attacking etc.) and it shows how in practice how you can use existing assets as a basis for your own mods. But yeah, just a little cleaning up is required.

If you make a beta-test-mod are you supposed to be able to continue working on that when the editor is officially released or do you have to begin all over again from scratch?

Just want to know before I go bananas and then it´s not working anymore in a couple of days/weeks?
... shoot to thrill!
