This is the forum for helping you out if you're stuck or if you want to discuss the nitty gritty details of the dungeons within Mount Grimrock. Warning: forum contains spoilers!
I don't think it does, that's how I did it (many times lol) and it didn't take that long to kill, actually... Maybe you need to use the "special item"? I also think I used lots of lightning, so I don't know, it might be resistant to other attacks?

That's what I wanted to know. I had to kill the cube avoiding the regular mobs and leaving out the secrets of the room, but in my second playthrough I will be able to heal myself using the pits and resting in the floor below.

SpoilerShowIf you fall down a pit while fighting, does the cube's health restore? It seems to me I've hit it a hundred times and it keeps rolling and rolling...SpoilerShowDid you pull out the parts first? Otherwise it is impossable to kill.SpoilerShowrestores its health whenever you fall down a pit and you restart the level again after entering the teleporter
The boss does not restore health. You can shoot him, jump in a hole, rinse and repeat till he dies.
