Missile Command - remake for browser

Post by PSY »

Hey,

this is a remake of the ATARI 1980 Missile Command arcade cabinet.
It was made for a contest, but I started coding way too late and didn't make it before deadline.

So I exported it to HTML5 so people can play it in their web browser ( don't forget to switch to fullscreen mode! Instructions on page! Highscore working! ):

That was fun! First try, wave 8 with a score of 5050 :)

!! UPDATE TIME !!

Among other updates, I have introduced an Online Highscore System.
Both the HTML and the WINDOWS version on itch.io ( see first post ) were updated and access the same online highscore table.

See you in the TOP 20 :D

Patch notes 17.12.2023:
- Online highscore system implemented ( PurpleToken )
- Sound volume option implemented
- Improved Intro - Shorter duration, bigger explosions
- Version number shown during Intro
- Removed one-time flicker in Intro
- Sync rate on HTML is now 60 instead of 30-32
- Improved keyboard and mouse input
- Max particles increased to 800
- Code clean-up

Thank you :)
Yeah, you can focus on one base, but that tactic will fail as soon as you reach a certain level, plus it won't get you many points, so you'll never make it to the top of the highscore list :)
