Monster Smashing Doors
I really never cared for the whole monster door thing. I admittedly never played DM but seriously: What monster is gonna stand under that thin little gate as it comes down? Really, stand still right as it's comin' down?

Re: Grimrock 2 import
It's not a straight sequel anyway, and story-wise would make NO sense to import characters, as they will be completely separate stories and timelines. In some old games you could import from one whole series to another, so that is not necessarily an obstacle. Most important would be the completely ...

Re: Any hints on the new class?
No I don't want the Paladin to be a better fighter. I wat a Paladin type class, except I don't want a heal/buff bot that many games make Paladins out to be. I want a unique class that wears armor, uses sword/hammers and uses Holy type abilities/skills/spells. :) So, you want a cleric. Sounds pretty...

Re: Any hints on the new class?
From the sounds of it you want a paladin to just be a better fighter. I'm also curious: What is a watered down paladin watered down from? (Note: You may mean D&D Supplement 1: Greyhawk the first game ever with a paladin I believe. However it's kind of odd to consider anything after such a primit...

Re: Any hints on the new class?
I don't mind paladins the problem would be that it wouldn't fulfill even a slightly new role. It would just be a matter of do I want a fighter or a paladin? All they are is a different flavor of the same thing.

Personally, no. I would be annoyed at the screen being way to small myself.

Re: Does "Invisibility" do anything useful?
Yup, all it does is help you sneak up on the enemy or avoid a fight. Enemies still immediately notice you when next to them. It can be handy for getting a position to backstab, really I'm pretty sure that is the main use. But also if you're not confident you can win a fight it will help you run away...

Actually, I hope you suggested water. We don't even have that so it certainly can't flood.BuzzJ wrote:Pushable Walls

Re: Why I will not be finishing Grimrock
While I think your post is far too harsh and your rating far too low, I agree with you on the combat. It's far too movement-based, and had they gone with a system more akin to Eye of the Beholder or Lands of Lore instead of Stonekeep, the game would easily be a 9/10. In fact despite owning it since...
