Re: Food and Puzzles don't mix
I would just hope that they still designed and balanced the game around the system, since it's part of the core experience they are trying to provide. I'm not sure what you mean by that. Care to explain that a bit more in detail? Food usage is about 4000 steps from fully fed to starving which takes...

Re: Food and Puzzles don't mix
As long as people are having civilized discourse here again, I guess I'll chime in. I think adding the option to disable food could be a decent solution. It's admittedly too easy to think of something as " either this or that", but situations that allow for player options are generally bes...

Re: Dev Team: Whats the Verdict on Linux version?
3. Security is an issue because someone stole my social security number and committed ID theft, which meant i spent 2 years dealing with banks and and other institutions. When i use linux I dont have to worry that my next CC purchase info is going to some basement dwelling hacker. These arguments h...

Re: Food and Puzzles don't mix
I want food to stay. I like how it feels, generally, in Grimrock. Azel doesn't. It's a differing of opinions. Nowhere did he say that he had a problem with finding or gathering food, but his detractors have been repeating this constantly, as if it is the driving force behind his posts. He just does...

Re: Food and Puzzles don't mix
I hate to defend Azel here, because I think he is wrong, but some of the forum members here like Dr. Disaster are so quick to jump on anyone who has a differing opinion with them and spew unwarranted abuse. Even though he's a normal, well-mannered person when it comes to mod threads, Dr. Disaster ta...

Re: Food and Puzzles don't mix
Not every clue in the game tells you exactly how something should be solved. The map to the Tetris puzzle doesn't explicitly state that you need to follow the order from "left to right" and that is the order of ladders you should climb, as opposed to the order of areas to swim around. Oth...

Re: Grimrock 2 impossible for some?
As a game designer, you shouldn't actively seek to add "unfun" mechanics into a game, nor should you seek to entirely add "fun" mechanics. This is a point not often understood. Imagine for a moment, that the developers put four small buttons next to the character portraits with ...

Re: Please Sir can I have some more ?
I think I'd rather stab myself in the eye than do that. Aww c'mon, it aint so bad. A cake walk compared to the time I took my Hibernian Eldritch from lvl 49 to 50 by pharming Phooka's in Dark Age of Camelot. Oh, God, I'm going to have night terrors about this... thanks. I did that as a Ra...

Re: Please Sir can I have some more ?
The key to having enough food in Grimrock 2 is to regularly take a break from exploring and get food. When you're low on food, those 2-3 turtles will not cut it with a 20 minute respawn. Fish from the sewers is probably the best place, but running to and from the secret area is very annoying and tim...

Re: Grimrock 2 impossible for some?
While I'm not a huge fan of some of the recent Elder Scrolls games, how would one distinguish between Skyrim and Grimrock 2 in the area of 'ego stroking'? In Skyrim, you are the dragonborn! Look how you change from prisoner-refugee into a powerful dragon-shouting warrior mage! In Grimrock 2, you bec...
