Re: Ideas about Grimrock 2

One more thing I forgot!

I'd like to see support for 1-3 member parties. It's fun to play with less than 4 characters.

Re: Quick spellcasting

I hope they get rid of the meta gaming aspect of spellcasting. The mystery and experimenting on the rune combos is fun but only for the first time. Once the player knows all the combinations (after first playthrough or having a look on these forums) it serves no purpose to have the spells listed as ...

Re: Ideas about Grimrock 2

The whole kiting thing really takes away from the immersion and believability factors of the game. I just hope LoG 2 won't have the same "optimal" character building where you put everything into offense and square dance away. Enemies like the Giant Wasps are more exciting to fight when they actual...

Re: Ideas about Grimrock 2

And a store for starting equipment.

Not all mods have to begin with a naked unequipped party. :-)

Re: Ideas about Grimrock 2

Here are some thoughts for improvements and additions: - Reduce the effectiveness of the kiting tactics. Speed up spell projectiles, missiles and creature initiative so it won't be as easy to kite around monsters and never get attacked. Square kiting encounters turns combat into a chore where charac...

Re: Brilliant game up til Level 9. I won't be finishing it.

I remember the time when I realised that tentacle-faces could open doors. I was playing that bit in the inner sanctum where all the walls disappear and legged it into one of the side rooms to hide/recover. You could literally see my face drop as the door opened by itself and two of them came in to ...

Re: Bloodwych mod

We grinded through that dungeon countless times... good times! The most fun by far was when both players controlled 1 mage.. blasting through enemies or running for our lives. For me the ultimate feature for LoG would be multiplayer like that. In 2012 one could expect 4 player multiplayer where the ...

Re: 2x2 strafing undermines character building [edited]

This thread really is getting repetitive and dull. Can we all just agree that square dancing around a lone HP inflated enemy for minutes at a time and never being attacked is not the epitome of fun and exciting combat? And neither is suddenly getting obliterated in a matter of seconds if two of the ...

Re: 2x2 strafing undermines character building

i believe it's not only him, because that tactic is not cheating. it's not against rules. and it's the best tactic. The way I see it is that it's a failsafe. Even though every monster past the lvl 1 snails can destroy your party brutally if you stand toe-to-toe with it, every battle is supposed to ...

Re: 2x2 strafing undermines character building [edited]

Yeah with RPG I was referring to the combat side of things where stats and skills matter. Would be great to have to make some story related choices though. edit: As for the ratio of twitch/stat based combat - yes the golden oldies had the same thing where you could just strafe to avoid all damage. T...
