Re: Dungeon Editor Suggestions
@Petri: It would be very exciting if you had a Glögg fuelled coding session for the dungeon editor before release! Although, there might be the problem that we spend the time asking for features that you've already added by naturally upgrading for your own purposes. If it would be of any help, I ca...

Re: Thief (reboot)
The Thief games were literally my favorite games ever. But I have no plans to play the reboot, the very idea of including special super attacks for killing guards offends every sensibility I have. Hmm, looking on google I can't find anything about those. Were they dropped? Well I'm already here, doe...

Re: Steampunk Dungeon Crawler - Vaporum
Only one character? I didn't watch the video, only saw the pictures. Well if it's not fantasy and has only one character, and you've done it right. Then yeah you've probably got something decently different going. I wasn't trying to insult it. I'm just always sceptical when one thing is made and the...

Re: Steampunk Dungeon Crawler - Vaporum
Eh, the later levels of grimrock already had the whole 'machine' feel. I don't really know how to feel about the set the same basic thing in a different world concept (steampunk, sci-fi, aboveground). Just like mods it give people options in a niche they enjoy, so that's good. But it just not very.....

Re: Achievement Suggestions
I would suggest one for making a dungeon. But of course then people would make empty dungeons just to filfill their achievement list.
Ooh but a nice achievement idea unrelated to modding:
Invisible Blade: Kill 5 enemies before they see you.
(Yeah the name may not be that great)

Re: Directional Facing of party members for melee
For many games, particularly action games or rpg's with a single character, the designers are open about trying to simplify mechanics. It emphasizes experiencing things as close to living them as possible; if you're slaying dragons or shooting space-fascists there would be no HUD or directional faci...

Re: finished the game: thoughts/review
-strength rather than dexterity (accuracy) determines missile weapon damage. This is actually a reasonable approach and is how games tended to work (Dex/Accuracy and Str/Damage for missile weapons) until someone decided that it was too complicated/burdensome to deal with two stats. If you're concer...

Re: Speed of the game - Please allow slower play
I would rather log be something other than a straight remake of DM, feature-for-feature conversions like moving ceilings rather than doors takes away from that. Yes I would like hazards to work on monsters, but actually they already do, so I think it's pretty good.

Re: Speed of the game - Please allow slower play
Disaster: Yeah, meant for Grimrock doors. Of course they could have made doors huge. But I think in a modern game having all door be in fact an entire patch of ceiling set to move rather than an actual door would look a little silly.
