Developing skills in LoG

As you fight in LoG with various weapons you gain "universal level points" that you then can spend for upgrading *any* skill. Compare this to Dungeon Master: when you use a weapon like sword you get fighter levels, when fireballing you get wizard levels, when making drugs you gain priest l...

Re: 2x2 strafing undermines character building [edited]

Yes and while we are at it, how about being able do dividing your team and attack from several sides simultaneously? I know that wasn't serious but let's not forget that our prisoners are chained together. That's the biggest reason behind walking in formation in the first place. Yes they ...

Re: 2x2 strafing undermines character building [edited]

How funny would it be if the monsters 2x2 strafed you - like an attack and get out of the way attack, then they strafed round your sides and took you from the flanks? Yes and while we are at it, how about being able do dividing your team and attack from several sides simultaneously? The b...

Re: 2x2 strafing undermines character building

.. ------- As a veteran power gamer I fully understand the appeal of trying to make the absolute best and most perfect party, as that is the focus of the vast majority of role playing games. I think most RPGs will fall somewhere on a scale between character and player based progression design. Whil...

Cannot load a portrait

I tried to load a custom portrait from /My Documents/Almost Human/ Legend of Grimrock/Portraits. BMP,GIF,ICO,JPG,PNG and TIF variants, but I don't see any to load. What am I doing wrong? Is the path right? What is the right format?

Re: Old School Mode

Oh, those were the times. Old school? Me and Sonja managed without even maps. Instead we placed used scrolls and other obsolete stuffs in the entrances of tunnels we already expleored. And sometimes a sword, dagger, worm slice or pieces of corbum to locations that still needed exploring. So we seldo...

Re: Hero portraits -customize?

OK, I see. I gather that the portraits are not just .gifs or .jpgs in some visible folder..

Hero portraits -customize?

I remember that DM2 had "utility disk" where you could even draw portraits to the game.

Can you add/replace portrait graphics in GR? Substitute vanilla pictures with nice photos for example.
