Re: Average Age ...
31 here... somewhat happily surprised to be leaning toward the younger side of the curve (of people reporting their age on this forum, anyway).

"East" is not "Right". "West" in not "Left". The Earth is not a flat piece of paper that just coincidentally happens to have your region of birth near the middle. The sound you heard was the countless pops of a million small minds being blown simultaneously. ;)

Re: Broken compass, seems fine to me?
Um. What are you talking about? It would still move - it would point East when you face East, etc. And yes, tons of games have a compass in the corner of the screen which points in the cardinal direction you're facing. Grimrock uses a 'true' compass, which is actually rare in games. Awesome, but ra...

Re: Please not mods/DLCs
I'm not sure I understand your objection to mods. You cite evidence such as your own lack of time to play, but I fail to see how that matters with regards to whether or not the community makes a bunch of games (or other lesser modifications) that you never use. What exactly is your concern with modd...

Re: am i crazy or is the compass broken?
I'm not sure if I'm supposed to laugh at this thread... or cry. Doubly sad that this is not the first time I've read about the compass being "broken" on these forums.

Re: Legend of Grimrock blew up my computer...
No game, application, or other piece of non-driver software is going to have the ability to force your GPU (or any other piece of hardware) to overheat itself. The problem here is that these PC's probably have a combination of undersized power supplies and improper cooling/ventilation. Saying that &...

Re: Anyone for english?
I've bumped into a couple of phrases that had me scratching my head longer than I probably should have (without spoilers, level 4 comes to mind), but I'm not sure I wholeheartedly attribute that to any sort of Finnish-to-English translation issues so much as I just consider it a byproduct of the lan...

Re: Any point in not taking swords?
While I've found a fairly nice sword or two, I've noticed my 2nd fighter who uses maces dishes out a ton of damage (even without a truly epic weapon). This is purely anecdotal and I haven't bothered recording any statistics or anything, but I'm very happy with both my sword fighter and my mace fight...

Re: Please provide a demo in the future.
I don't think anyone here (or anyone with any shred of sanity) is arguing that "not having a demo" is in some way superior to "having a demo" (assuming a quality product, of course, there are plenty of reasons to not want a demo if your product is garbage)... The issue at hand is...
