Something will appear on one side of the pillar when you have gone around it enough times

For the smallest nudge I would remind that you can drop and pickup items form adjacent square through iron bars, as long as the item is next to the bars.

To proceed you need to remove all torches in the moon area and light all the torches in the sun area and that opens the way forward for you in the temple.

Also stack as much elemental resistance on one dude and he should be able to bash the Master into submission. Also brew resurrection potions, as they will give full heal (just make sure to resurrect someone else if the max-resist tank is about to fall.

There is also a nasty one with multiple snakes on it's body, probably a medusa, poisons etc.
There are also magna golems, fire elementals, air elementals, flying squids and same fire-dudes as in LoG1.

Boss list should also have a dragon and the island master in it

Embalmers pants are missing from the release version of the game, but the (currently in beta) patch adds them somewhere into the game.

The spheres need to be on the correct altars (the runes are visible on the altars) and after that the door will open once you approach it.

And yes, the final gem is in the castle and you can return with it.

So far with 74/77 secrets found my total is 10 gold keys found so far, so they are really limited resource.
