I'm now below the frozen lake east of pale village. Right at the beginning of the dungeon I fell into a pit and managed to get upstairs again by putting a weight on the pressure plate behind the gate. the spawning teleporter in the distance. The bridge was easy though as it makes this humming sound so I was quickly aware it was there.
