Re: How useful are elemental shields?

I'd say that frost is still useful at the end. While there aren't as many creatures using it, some of the named enemies do, and they do it in a big way. Specific party compositions might also alter the priority: it's a bit of an outlier, but an all-lizard party might have absolutely zero use for poi...

Re: Can someone convince me....

What the text means is "The duration of all cooldowns is reduced by 10%." It's not trying to deal in the math and associated wording usually found in haste calculations.

Re: Can someone convince me....

Evasion isn't worthless or near-worthless, it just isn't a potential super-stat like it was in LoG1. It still allows the character to avoid some attacks, and even if that's only a modest share of them, those are attacks that don't do any damage. Beyond that, Protection still gets much better with mo...

Re: Anyone else feel like Fighter is almost completely usele

I don't think the intended design of a Fighter is a glass cannon that melees from back row. I don't feel that they have an "intended design" beyond using weapons. A light-armored (or even unarmored) duellist/swashbuckler/pikeman/linebreaker/etc is just as valid as the one running around in plate, e...

Re: Anyone else feel like Fighter is almost completely usele

Bare hand casting also becomes meaningless the instant you find a wand. To use a wand or orb points into Concentration skill are required while Bare Hand Casting requires nothing. Given the number of spells that depend on it, nevermind the extra energy/regen, It's highly unlikely that someone is go...

Re: Grimrock 2 impossible for some?

The console does allow for a fair amount of "spontaneous difficulty management" if you're having trouble (or, I suppose, if you feel you need to have more trouble) above and beyond the settings you choose at the start of the game. Difficulty otherwise isn't just about the settings; the right (or wro...

Re: The "Walking Dead" Party

The only change one could make to my Walking Dead party to make it stronger is to drop the Farmer and add another Alchemist. I'm not so sure about that. Replacing one of the two minotaurs with another lizardman (for the massive racial resist boost) or in the case of the HW user, even a ratling (for...

Re: Elemental system

It isn't a given that elements should oppose one another, although it might be nice (if perhaps too much to add to LoG2 at this point) if there were some interactions between them. Divinity: Original Sin handled this well; the LoG equivalent would be doing something like creating a poison cloud (wit...

Re: On Weapon and Class balance

Carrying capacity can matter in combat: injuries that reduce a character's max load can leave your party slowed or immobilized; higher max load gives you more wiggle room to deal with that.

Re: Heavy Weapons Question

What you *can* do with Heavy 5 is use two-handed light weapons in one hand (since that trait is not specific to heavy weapons), so along with Light 5 you can dual wield harpoons and/or the handful of other two-handed light weapons that exist in the game. It's more gimmicky than useful since those tw...
