Surprised that not one person is this thread has mentioned the fact that old school map drawing such as I do ..adds significant time to the play through. A lot of people went this route.

Leave it for your next play through. Gives you another reason to play the game again.

Draw your own map old school style, and it will always be available there on the desk right beside you. Not a minimap, but a full size map. Having a minimap on the screen would have ruined the experience for me.

I have to say, even though I've played tons of these block-style dungeon crawl games, it has always (and still does) felt like cheating to do the move and strike their side thing.
