Re: [SPOILERS] The Legend. Story of Grimrock.

M.M, I am with you in the assumption that they did not have a fully formulated back-story. Just several good plot ideas. We seem to be doing a good job of filling in any gaps. I do not think the king would require manipulation. Any responsible monarch would be interested in an evidently ancient and ...

Re: [SPOILERS] The Legend. Story of Grimrock.

Glad you liked my explanation. The undying one tells us that he was there long before the dungeon was made. And that he remembers it to have been something else once. This would back the Temple and religious trial or arena theory. As for the scrolls on Level 4: Crimes forgotten - but never forgiven ...

Re: Music

The Soundtrack is in fact bundled, but I also would love the sheet music.

I am just taking up my Tenor Saxophone again and I'd love to try this out on it.
It wouldn't have to be in any professionally finished form. I'd be happy with a copy of whatever notes the composer has of the music.

Re: [spoiler] Final Boss discussion

Honestly, I interpred it slightly differently. Based on the description of the weapon you use to disable it, it sounds like there were at one time multiple cubes that had to be controlled or put down. I saw the end boss as a sort of rogue clockwork artificial intelligence which was created, and ult...

Re: How many of you named your minotaur fighter Kronk?

Gorf the Bad - A leader of bandits. A true monster. Killed six out of ten of the kings men when he and his band were captured. It was clear even before the capture that should he ever be captured he'd be Grimrock material.

Re: [spoiler] Final Boss discussion

Don't get me wrong. I love the game and the ending.
Those were just my thoughts over the entire course of the game to make sense of what was going on at all.

Much like Toorum has been wondering at the peculiarities of the dungeons design throughout his quest.

Re: [spoiler] Final Boss discussion

I posted this over in another thread, but it seems fitting here as well: I assume the Undying One is not actually the mechanical cube itself, but rather a more powerful entity imprisoned inside it. I do not think it was lying when it said that it could create a portal out of the dungeon when repaire...

Re: [Spoilers] Last level not fun.

Apparently the Goromorgs where the creators of the dungeon (why else have so many statues of your race on display) or at least so it seems to me and they were able to create the ultimate weapon to stun the cube. They also created those golems with 2 flails, that are actually pretty speedy and very ...
