Re: Legend of Grimrock 3

What do you think about stealth mechanics in Grimrock ? Would it be feasible to do ? For example, thief class would detach from the party, scout, sneak and make critical hits. Though he would need to return to the party. I would maybe make it so that each player only controls 1 character in multipla...

Re: Legend of Grimrock 3

I have a lot of fond gaming memories of playing two player Bloodwych in my younger years. (It's the only two-player Dungeon Master style game I've ever played.) I'd probably really enjoy a two-player campaign in Grimrock 3; but I can see a few issues. The core issue is that designing a dungeon for ...

Re: To makers of game, my five cents and suggestions...

Sandbox waters down the storytelling for sure. The best thing for devs to do is create a solid core game system (classes/stats/abilities/magic) and a powerful toolset for players to build their own modules with. Grimrock has a very solid foundation for a combat system with its 4 stats and accuracy/d...

Re: Legend of Grimrock 3

Hexes? That would completely mess up movement and dungeon layouts. You wouldn't even be able to move along half the walls without zig zagging lol. And there couldn't be such a simple thing as a T-junction without a weird angle.

Hexes are for strategy games.

Re: Legend of Grimrock 3

...which makes Bloodwych multiplayer with free movement. We always played it with a single character in both "parties". And I do believe you could leave party members to stand on a pressure plate. The modern version would of course be much more advanced and allow movement through friendlies and join...

Re: Legend of Grimrock 3

Of course it's possible. And necessary. Not being able to move your own character wouldn't be fun.

Bloodwych did multiplayer dungeon crawl back in 1989 and it was brilliant.

Re: Legend of Grimrock 3

You would surely need free movement for it to be fun. And to keep the gameplay where it is now i.e. moving around in combat and to dodge slow moving spells etc. Teamwork with free movement would enable all kinds of new combat tactics - backstabbing, flanking.. say the Fighter taunts a monster and lu...

Re: Legend of Grimrock 3

Party based multiplayer that would encourage teamwork. How? - class roles: tank, support, dps, controller... run off alone and you get killed - puzzles that require teamwork to solve - free individual movement but 4 players could also occupy the same square when needed (and move freely through eacho...

Re: Legend of Grimrock 3

Have the devs ever completely ruled out multiplayer? What I would like LoG 3 to be is the NWN of dungeon crawlers with infinite replayability. So a 2-4 player multiplayer with mostly single party co-op in mind. Think of Bloodwych or Hired Guns. Add to that with endless modding in mind: - a more robu...

Re: Anyone else feel like Fighter is almost completely usele

I don't think the intended design of a Fighter is a glass cannon that melees from back row. I don't feel that they have an "intended design" beyond using weapons. A light-armored (or even unarmored) duellist/swashbuckler/pikeman/linebreaker/etc is just as valid as the one running around in plate, e...
