Re: (Spoilers) Was anybody else disappointed with the castle

Hmm, at that point in the game you wanted some tough puzzles and end game rather than more environments. If you've played the games that LOG plays tribute to it's a familiar pattern, that final tower of small levels of challenge.

Do it yourself! So satisfying when you think it through and solve puzzles yourself =D

Re: digging holes

I like that you're discouraged from digging too much by how ugly the island gets if you do it all. Well done on finding treasure chests though - most of them don't have really obvious clue landmarks.

Is there a visual cue? Maybe it's my mind playing tricks on me but the lock looks like a tongue sometimes...

Re: Character Genders?

There's a certain beauty to just ignoring gender whatsoever. Sure you can make arguments for "men are strong blah blah blah", but there's no reason for avoiding full equality - at the end of the day it's just a character thing and you can leave that up to the player.

Re: Why i never get any lockpick?

There might be more than there are locked chests, but I've still got another 25 or so secrets left so who knows... You'll find them and if you look hard you should build up a surplus.

Re: Weapon special attack balance

Nah, special attacks are great! Good addition for tactical combat, plus you can always charge them up as your first/last strike.

Re: Monster movement improvement

It's very clever - kinda obvious but ingenious to notice - all you have to do to make good monsters is use player tricks against them. That with the spinning attacks and charges, and *ahem* other moves, have made combat a real joy. Some of it feels like I'm playing an FPS, which is pretty impressive...

Re: Combat

OK, just bought this and started playing. was enjoying the blast to the past with much much nicer graphics... until my first serious combat (viperroots) sorry, but what made the old square-box rpgs great was that they were turn-based. Likewise, this game needs at LEAST the option for turn based com...
