I haven't tried this, but could you create a party with only one member in it? I haven't tried doing that so I'm not sure if it stops you if you don't create four party members, but the character creation window had you "adding" members to the party so it looked like you could simply not ...

My first thought? "What is this? Does it kill me in 1 hit?" Yes. Yes it does. Actually, if there's nothing blocking you like this C P E ( C ube, P arty, E mpty square) it does like 30-ish damage and pushes you into the empty square. not me, no matter where i was, it was one hit to kill......

I hear ya, but always save on level... and I am loving the old school/harcore-ness of this game.
